At Plywood Express, we stock manufactured fire-rated MDF from Roseburg (Medite® FR) and Finsa (FibraPan®). These panels are fire-rated from the core, produced during manufacturing by incorporating fire-retardant chemicals and heat-resistant resins throughout the board. This ensures uniform flame resistance and more consistent, long-lasting protection compared to surface-applied treatments.
We also offer a topical fire-retardant spray service, a surface-applied coating designed to create a protective barrier that helps slow ignition and reduce flame spread. This treatment can assist materials in meeting interior building code requirements, and a certificate of treatment is provided upon request.
Both our manufactured fire-rated panels and fire-retardant treated panels achieve a Class A Flame Spread Rating and comply with standards established by ASTM International, National Fire Protection Association, ULC, Underwriters Laboratories, and Uniform Building Code, with testing conducted by independent, nationally recognized accredited third-party laboratories in the United States.
